Johns Hopkins Advantage MD is eager to announce that this summer, we will be attending the Crossroads Farmers Market in Takoma Park, Maryland — not just for one day, but all season long.
The Crossroads Farmers Market is a producers-only farmers market serving the Montgomery and Prince George’s County area. Every Wednesday of the season, from April through November, local residents gather to meet, shop and grab a bite at this popular community crossroad. The market features a range of vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, coffee, a variety of flowers, plants and herbs, and delicious prepared foods. There’s also food demos and tastings, kids’ activities, live music, free health screenings and a bushel of fun seasonal events.
The Crossroads Farmers Market takes place in Takoma Park, a thriving and diverse community located just outside Washington, DC. Crossroads strives to offer nutrition incentives and provide the community with more inclusive access to healthy, affordable food choices. The market gladly accepts all federal nutrition benefits programs including, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps); Women, Infants, and Children Fruit and Vegetable Checks (WIC FVC); Senior/WIC FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks); and DC WIC.
Advantage MD is excited to be a part of this vibrant community tradition. We’ll be there throughout the season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet, greet and provide information and helpful resources.
