How to Receive Your $0 Flu Shot
By now, you likely know what the flu is. The infection can cause many symptoms, including fever, cough and body aches. It can be especially dangerous for adults over 65. According to the CDC, 70 to 85 percent of seasonal flu-related deaths have occurred in people 65 years and older. Also, 50 to 70 percent of hospitalizations related to the seasonal flu have occurred among adults in this age range.
What can you do? Have your yearly flu shot. It can help you avoid the flu and help keep you from becoming severely ill if you do get the flu.
- You can receive your flu shot at either an in-network provider or pharmacy.
- A flu shot costs $0. When you get your flu shot from an in-network provider or pharmacy, you do not pay anything.
Get protected as soon as you can. Schedule your flu shot or visit a network pharmacy for your shot as soon as doses become available (typically September).
